The Orono Police Reserves are looking for new volunteers. The reserves are the eyes and ears of the Orono Police Department. The reserves are required to attend monthly trainings to learn new skills and give 100 hours of their time a year. Reserves are used to direct traffic at public and private events, park patrol, assist officers at accidents, animals calls, lock outs, securing crime scenes, transporting prisoners, ride-a-longs with officers and anything else the department needs help with. Qualifications to be a reserve include, 18 years old and have graduated high school, valid driver’s license, good moral character and pass a background check. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in law enforcement for a career or just want to give back to your community.
